When you think of the term “dog show” what is the first picture that comes to your mind? Unless you have seen competitions on TV or have been to a dog show live, you may not have an idea of what a dog show actually is.
A dog show is basically an elimination-type tournament that consists of many rounds and semifinal rounds that will lead up to the selection of one main winner. This winner wins the title called “best in show”. The start of the competition begins with the breed ring. This is where dogs that are of the same breed and have similar characteristics will face off with one another through rounds of judging and trials.
Puppies love attention. They crave for it, they cry for it, and when they get it, they will do anything to keep that attention focused on them. Your puppy does not care if the attention that you are giving him is in response to something positive or something negative. All he cares about is getting attention from you.
Let’s say that you’re trying to have a nice, peaceful dinner, but your puppy keeps jumping up and down, standing like a prairie dog right in front of you to get your attention. When you try to correct him by pushing him down or yelling ?Off!?, he just gets more and more excited and continues to jump up and down. He’s doing so because you just responded to his behavior.
Dogs absolutely love to jump into things and on top of them. Why? Simply because they are dogs! It’s just part of their playful nature. In fact, the real challenge usually comes from trying to get them out from wherever they jumped into. And it is so much fun if you can teach your dog to jump into your lap on command.
Most dogs love to nestle in your lap. However, as your dog gets bigger he is less likely to stay there once you pick him up. So that is what we’re going to teach you today ? how to get your dog to jump into your lap whenever you want him to (regardless of his size).
